Job summary

Serco Inc. (Serco) seeks an Engineering Technician/Machinist to support NAVO at Stennis Space Center, MS, assembling, testing unmanned maritime systems and related equipment, including electrical wiring and mechanical assemblies for land and marine environments.

The role offers growth into senior positions within a growing team. Candidates must have a Secret clearance or eligibility, US citizenship, and a high school diploma, with hands-on mechanical/electrical experience and potential travel.

Qualifications

• Interim Secret Clearance or Active/Current Secret Clearance at time of employment with ability to obtain/maintain.
• US Citizenship required.
• High School Diploma or higher; certain cases may waive for 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 2 years of directly related experience; DOD contracting background preferred.
• Experience with 3D printing and engineering software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) preferred.
• Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Support NAVO in integrating, assembling, and testing unmanned maritime systems and ancillary equipment.
• Perform mechanical assembly, electrical wiring/connections and testing in land and marine environments.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems to identify faulty components and replacements.
• Lift up to 50 pounds for installation/removal of components.
• Operate pallet jacks, electronic stackers and forklifts for movement of systems.
• Support land and marine testing in austere environments for extended periods.
