Job summary

Moran, a historic leader in harbor towage, marine services, and related operations, is seeking a Risk Manager to own risk financing and claims administration across its maritime portfolio. You will coordinate renewals, analyze exposure, and drive enterprise-wide risk improvements in collaboration with safety, legal, finance, and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, Maritime Studies, Law, or a related field required.
• Five (5) to Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in risk management, commercial or marine insurance, claims, legal, maritime operations, or a related field, with two (2) years in a management capacity.
• Strong financial and analytical experience, including analysis of loss runs, severity trends, deductible spending, premium allocation, and total cost of risk.
• Experience building dashboards and working with systems such as Power BI, Origami Risk Information System or other similar RMIS tools.
• Strong knowledge of insurance principles, claims management, and contractual risk transfer.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and claims/risk management systems.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.

Responsibilities

• Develop enterprise risk management initiatives.
• Monitor operational, financial, legal, regulatory, and reputational risks.
• Assist business units in evaluating and mitigating operational exposures.
• Partner with Safety, Operations, and Legal departments to implement loss-prevention strategies.
• Participate in audits, inspections, tabletop exercises, and incident response planning.
• Track corrective actions arising from incidents, audits, and claims reviews.
• Monitor risk management practices for compliance with maritime, environmental, transportation, employment, and insurance requirements.
