Maritime Planner
Position Description
S2 Technologies is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Maritime Planner to provide support to U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. FOURTH FLEET ((USNAVSOUTH/FOURTHFLT)) in Jacksonville, FL, for long-range, future, current, and crisis planning activities.
Typical duties include:
- Coordinate development and approval of fragmentary orders.
- Support warfare areas, planning teams, and decision forums to leverage space force enhancements in ISR, missile warning, environmental monitoring, satellite communications, and space-based positioning, navigation, and timing. Identify and integrate space enhancements during planning and manage space effects during operations.
- Assist operational planning teams using the Navy Planning Process to develop products supporting mission planning, incorporating multidisciplinary warfare concepts into operational plans.
- Provide perspectives on air, surface, subsurface, amphibious, and expeditionary warfare for operational-level planning, security cooperation, and development of execution orders within the maritime domain.
- Develop and refine operational approaches, including problem framing, center of gravity analysis, objectives, effects, key tasks, decision points, and risk assessment.
- Coordinate planning recommendations with the Maritime Planning Group.
- Integrate assessment measures of effect (MOE) and measures of performance (MOP) into the planning process, including phase transition criteria.
- Identify adversary conditions impacting command objectives and develop effects based on commander's intent and mission analysis.
- Support joint/operational planning and coordination with coalition or regional partners in USSOUTHCOM AOR, providing analysis and recommendations involving joint, interagency, and multinational efforts.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of military staff planning experience.
- At least 2 years supporting a Maritime Operations Center.
- Broad knowledge of foreign affairs, international and political environments, and roles of government agencies, including security assistance and cooperation.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required.
Certifications:
- JQO, MSOC, JPME I, JPME II, AJPME, or MOPC preferred.
Security Clearance:
- Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
