Reports To: Senior Wedding Planner (JJE Owner)

Job Summary:

Join our collaborative team as an Assistant Wedding Planner in Phoenix, supporting our Senior Wedding Planner to plan and execute highly personalized, multicultural, and bilingual weddings. This entry-level role is perfect for a proactive learner with a passion for weddings, keen attention to detail, and strong emotional intelligence. This multifaceted position encompasses a wide range of wedding planning tasks, offering the opportunity for creativity and long term growth within the company. No two days are the same at JJE!

You’ll play a crucial role across all stages of the planning process with organization of logistics, clear communication, and creative support alongside a Senior Planner. Strong project management skills, professionalism, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new systems are essential. We are proud to offer flexible work schedules to our team.

Evenings and some weekends are required. Availability on Nov. 15, 2025 and Jan. 17, 2026 is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Wedding Planning Support:

  • Assist the Senior Wedding Planner during all stages of planning, with a focus on logistics, organization, and administrative tasks
  • Help prepare planning documents such as timelines, floor plans, and setup instructions under supervision
  • Attend planning meetings, take notes, and provide follow-up support as needed
  • Organize and maintain wedding details in client portals
  • Communicate professionally with couples and vendors to support Lead Planner as needed
  • Assist in sourcing or researching venues and vendors for JJE couples
  • Support the creation of mood boards, ful design proposals, and branded client deliverables

Wedding Day Execution:

  • Attend all wedding rehearsals and wedding days to support the Senior Planner, JJE team, couples and vendors as needed
  • Oversee wedding day decor setup and JJE Wedding Day Specialists (assistants)
  • Capture behind the scenes content of wedding day for JJE marketing
  • Senior Planner manage the timeline and details of the day, taking initiative to assist wherever needed
  • Promptly and professionally address any unexpected challenges or emergencies that arise during the wedding, always maintaining professionalism and repose

Ideal Candidate:

Qualifications:

  • Passion for weddings and interest in pursuing a career in wedding planning
  • Skills: strong organization, attention to detail, written and verbal communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and work well under pressure
  • Ability to learn quickly and take initiative to ensure a smooth client experience
  • Comfortable walking and standing for extended periods of time on event days
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel within the Phoenix metropolitan area
  • Access to a suitable working place with stable computer and internet connection
  • Growth mindset with interest in growing with the company
  • Skills necessary for long-term success: curiosity, creativity, and openness to feedback for growth

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience in weddings or event planning
  • Current student or graduate with a degree in one of the following: hospitality, project management, business, or a related field

Hours and Compensation:

  • Schedule: Part-time, hours vary by event schedule, season, and availability
  • We proudly offer flexible scheduling! Evenings & some weekends are required.
  • Compensation: $15/hour
  • Primarily remote based. Some in person hours required throughout Arizona, primarily in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
