Job summary

Flagship Management is seeking an experienced Operations Superintendent to support vessel loading, stowage, and marine operations for a specialized vessel fleet. Based in the Port Everglades area, the role involves travel including international assignments.

The successful candidate will develop space and safety plans, coordinate with vessel masters and port agents, and oversee loading/unloading operations with a hands-on leadership approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of technical, naval, marine, or merchant maritime education.
• Knowledge of marine transportation and operational standards such as DNV-ST-N001 or equivalent.
• Strong Microsoft Office and general PC/IT skills.
• Seagoing or vessel operations experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to coordinate multiple activities and provide leadership during complex vessel operations.
• Comfortable working aboard vessels, at heights, and in physically demanding marine environments.
• Right to work in the USA and valid passport required.
• Ability to travel including internationally.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends when vessels are in port.

Responsibilities

• Develop vessel space plans, stowage plans, docking plans, and cargo arrangements.
• Develop cribbing, sea-fastening, and cargo securing plans.
• Verify vessel loading and submerging conditions.
• Coordinate with Commercial, vessel Masters, crews, port agents, terminals, and subcontractors.
• Plan and oversee yard delivery and storage operations
• Plan and oversee vessel loading and unloading operations, including scheduling, berth coordination, divers, welders, and other required services.
• Direct the sequence of cargo operations aboard vessels during port calls.
• Survey cargo and verify sea fastenings prior to vessel departure.
• Maintain awareness of port and terminal restrictions and operational limitations.
