Job summary

Tundra Technical Solutions is among North America’s leading providers of Staffing and Consulting Services. Our client seeks a shipboard network engineer to analyze, design and implement robust LAN/WAN, wireless, and security solutions across fleet operations.

You will configure and maintain Cisco/Aruba/Fortinet devices, manage cloud services, and collaborate with shoreside IT during new builds, dry docks, and daily operations to ensure uptime and performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field, or equivalent experience.
Midlevel networking certifications strongly preferred.
3–5 years hands-on experience configuring and managing enterprise networking hardware (routers/switches/wireless, firewalls, cloud services).
Experience with shipboard or maritime networks preferred; recent network admin/management experience required.
Expertise in enterprise routing (BGP/OSPF/EIGRP) and switching; Cisco/ACI/SDA/ISE knowledge ideal.
Strong ability to work independently and coordinate with international teams.

Responsibilities

Analyze and design shipboard and shoreside data networks to support business needs.
Configure, upgrade, and maintain network components to meet growth and infrastructure needs.
Develop BoMs and oversee end-to-end projects.
Evaluate hardware, software, and cloud services for upgrades or new solutions.
Document and maintain network standards, topologies and procedures.
Collaborate with Network Lead to deploy solutions across fleet and data centers.
Monitor systems with enterprise tools and address performance or reliability issues.
