Job summary

ARMADA INC. is seeking an ESH Technician to promote environmental, safety and health on diverse jobsites, working independently or with teams, ensuring compliance with regulations and project requirements.

The role reports to the ESH Supervisor and is full-time on-site at offices, shipyards, and customer facilities. Responsibilities include daily site inspections, safety training, incident investigations, and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of maritime industry experience.
• OSHA 5410 Maritime Standards preferred.
• HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour preferred.
• OSHA 521 Industrial Hygiene preferred.
• OSHA 3115 Fall Protection preferred.
• OSHA 3095 Low Voltage preferred.
• Shipyard Competent Person (Gas Free) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of facility, vessel, pier to ensure compliance and identify unsafe conditions or violations.
• Work with on-site project management to enforce safety policies and procedures.
• Represent the company during inspections, investigations and interactions with stakeholders.
• Lead safety meetings and training on ESH topics including respirator fit testing and fall protection.
• Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions to minimize risk.
• Investigate incidents and accidents in the workplace.
• Conduct industrial hygiene testing such as air sampling and monitoring.
• Review Job Hazard Analysis sheets and ensure hazard controls.
• Perform ESH administrative duties for job assignments.
• Ensure safety equipment supplies are available.
