Job summary

A maritime subcontractor is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Technician to oversee safety and environmental compliance in shipyard operations. The ideal candidate will ensure adherence to safety standards while supporting ship repair projects, including managing documentation and conducting inspections. Applicants must have significant EHS experience and familiarity with OSHA standards. This full-time role requires working in varied conditions, ideally suited for local candidates in Washington.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of EHS experience in Ship Repair, Maritime, or Industrial environments.
• Experience working at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard or other WA Naval facilities preferred.
• Familiarity with Washington L&I regulations is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site safety and environmental oversight for shipyard operations.
• Conduct routine inspections for OSHA compliance and track issues.
• Support hazardous material management and environmental compliance activities.

Skills

EHS experience in Ship Repair

Knowledge of OSHA Maritime Standards

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft applications

Education

High school diploma or GED

Certified HAZWOPER

10-hour OSHA Maritime Safety
