Job summary

Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay invites applications for a Maritime Education Expert as part of the NEXTSEAS initiative. The role is a 0.90 FTE, non-benefitted, hybrid appointment requiring travel and presence at MMA and Finland partners.

You will collaborate with Bollinger Shipyards and Finnish institutions, shaping curricula and workforce-training approaches for a resilient shipbuilding workforce in the Americas' Seas.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional experience in U.S. maritime education, technical education, workforce training, apprenticeship, curriculum development, or closely related field.
• Strong practical knowledge of U.S. maritime education and training ecosystem, including institutions, training centers, and industry networks.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical expertise on the U.S. maritime education and workforce-training system.
• Support development, implementation, and validation of NEXTSEAS curricula, training models, and workforce-development activities.
• Help integrate NEXTSEAS curricula and training approaches into U.S. education and workforce-development structures.
• Build and maintain collaboration among educational institutions, training providers, industry, workforce organizations, and other stakeholders.
• Strengthen pathways for sustained use of the project's curricula and training models beyond the federal project period.
• Contribute independent and proactive expertise to MMA core project team and transatlantic consortium.
