Job summary

Clarksons is seeking a talented Broker to join our Bethesda team. You will negotiate and fix spot cargoes on various routes and allocate contract cargoes to ships to maximize financial results within prevailing market conditions.

You will collaborate with vessel owners and government and commercial clients to coordinate humanitarian, military, and project cargo shipments, travel for meetings, and drive revenue through client development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with broking.
• US Jones Act experience required.
• Experience working with government agencies is advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Drive revenue and develop client base.
• Market tonnage to customers/shippers/charterers.
• Negotiate spot/time charters to maximise income for owners.
• Prepare and submit offers to US Government agencies.
• Coordinate cargo allocation to ships and service.
• Travel and attend client meetings/events as required.
