Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Marine Operations Engineer, Surface Maritime, to join at a cutting-edge start-up environment focusing on autonomous surface vessels. You will support field operations and maintenance planning across multiple ASV platforms, travel globally up to 50% of the time and contribute to the next generation of surface maritime systems.

The role requires a USCG credential, 5+ years at sea, and the ability to work daily in Costa Mesa, CA when not deployed, with strong

Qualifications

  • Valid USCG Merchant Mariner Credential as First Assistant Engineer (or higher).
  • 5+ years experience operating at-sea, ideally on autonomous vessels or highly automated systems.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of electronics troubleshooting and use of test/maintenance equipment.
  • Very organized and detail-oriented.
  • Experience developing operational procedures and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and customer support skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to be in office in Costa Mesa, CA daily when not deployed.
  • Ability to deploy up to 50% of the time.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Work within a multidisciplinary team through ASV design, integration, and test efforts.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, operate, and maintain ASVs in the field.
  • Conduct pre-mission testing, vehicle tasking, and data analysis.
  • Deploy globally in support of at-sea ASV operations.
  • Write, review, and execute test plans during at-sea testing.
  • Coordinate underway event execution with vendors, partners, and logistics.
  • Author detailed daily operational reports documenting execution.
  • Support software UI design for ASV systems.
  • Develop user documentation for all ASV operations.
  • Enable local ASV operations with nearshore at-sea days per week.
  • Travel and support customer facing operations approximately 50% of the time.
