Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking a Mariner for the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment's Marine Section in New York City. Qualifications

• Valid US Coast Guard Able Seaman certificate or Merchant Mariner's document with AB endorsement, unlimited
• Certificate/document must be maintained for duration of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate valves to load or discharge vessel's cargo
• Handle lines; rigging, mooring and unmooring vessels
• Clean, scale and paint vessels and equipment
• Steer vessels and stand lookout
• Perform heavy manual labor under varying weather conditions

Education

US Coast Guard Able Seaman certificate (unlimited)

US Merchant Mariner's document with AB endorsement (unlimited)
