Job description

Maersk Offshore Wind is hiring Offshore crew for our Wind Turbine Installation Vessel currently under construction at Seatrium Shipyard in Singapore. The new build is expected to be delivered in Q4 2025.

In this phase, MOW is looking to recruit for various key positions to assist with new build operational familiarization and commissioning of equipment and vessel systems.

The newbuilding crew team will also develop operational procedures and manuals, task plans, and risk assessments for the vessel’s operational processes.

Additionally, the crew will attend courses relevant to the operation of the Wind Turbine Installation Vessel.

More crew positions will follow in subsequent phases, with the full marine crew expected by 2025.

Candidates with experience in Offshore Wind Turbine Installation projects, construction vessels, new build commissioning, planned maintenance systems, spare parts, and procedures will be preferred.

Key responsibilities

The Marine Technician is responsible for safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations, performing maintenance, repair, and inspection duties around the vessel, including engine-related tasks, as appointed by the Chief Engineer.

The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing all mechanical system maintenance to ensure vessel equipment meets operational standards.
  • Providing technical support for mechanical systems to achieve vessel efficiency and client objectives.
  • Focusing on systems that ensure effective maintenance operations and minimize downtime.
  • Implementing and maintaining safety and environmental compliance.
  • Assisting the Chief Engineer with maintenance procedures and system utilization.
  • Maintaining deck cranes, jacking equipment, cargo elevators, hydraulic systems, etc., according to schedules and manufacturer instructions.
  • Identifying issues with hydraulic/mechanical equipment.
  • Ensuring inspections are conducted and followed up according to standards.
  • Supporting crane operators and other operational staff to ensure efficient operation of deck cranes and equipment.

Operational experience and certifications required

Candidates should have experience as a Marine Technician with functions such as:

  • Maintenance of cranes, jacking, and hydraulic systems.
  • Implementation of maintenance programs and systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Technical background as a Maritime Service Engineer or similar.

  • Basic STCW Certificates
  • Proficiency in Security Awareness (STCW A-VI/6-1)
  • Medical Certificate (STCW)
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination
  • Discharge Book

Preferred but not mandatory education/courses

  • HUET – OPITO Approved
  • CA-EBS
  • Designated Security Duties (STCW A-VI/6-2)
  • Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than FRB
