APS Stevedoring LLC in Baltimore is hiring a Marine Superintendent Per-Diem. This is a per diem role with the opportunity to work 3-4 shifts weekly; pay is by the shift at $300 or $37.50 per hour.

The Superintendent will direct and manage union-represented labor, ensuring safety, productivity, and compliance with marine terminal operations. Responsibilities include labor direction, labor relations, safety planning, and performance management across vessel and terminal activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing related union labor.
• Knowledge of safety and accident prevention codes and regulations.
• Knowledge and understanding of cargo stowage and stability strongly desired.
• Ability to manage a large, complex, and diverse workforce in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills needed to respond quickly and effectively to operational issues.
• Ability to plan and organize projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to work varied hours, shifts and days.
• Ability to communicate effectively with union-represented workforce and other staff.
• Accountability for a safe and efficient operation, with a positive working relationship with union-represented and other employees.
• TWIC Card: required to apply; could affect start date.

Responsabilités

• Analyze operational needs and assign and direct labor to perform such operations in a manner that maximizes efficiency while maintaining a safe work environment.
• Supervise union-represented employees, including counseling, disciplining, and making termination recommendations to ensure efficient operation.
• Direct preparation of department plans and determine the workforce to accomplish plans.
• Address grievances submitted by labor and respond to issues raised by union agents and members.
• Assist with daily safety and operations meetings and develop plans to identify and resolve safety hazards.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
