The Maritime Client Success Specialist is a customer-facing member of the Maritime Client Services team responsible for helping customers successfully adopt and use the company’s products and services after system commissioning. The role coordinates onboarding, training, account administration, routine support, and follow-up while serving as a link between customers and internal technical, product, operations, and sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the transition from installation to ongoing client services, including account setup, user access, vessel and fleet information, and initial platform configuration.
- Lead onboarding, system familiarization, and refresher training for vessel crews, engineering teams, fleet managers, dispatchers, and shoreside personnel.
- Provide day-to-day support for assigned customers, track open requests, and coordinate timely follow-up with Technical Support, Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Sales.
- Help customers use platform features, workflows, dashboards, reports, and available resources effectively.
- Monitor customer engagement and product adoption; identify training needs, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve the customer experience.
- Maintain accurate customer, vessel, fleet, asset, account, and interaction records and help resolve routine data, configuration, and reporting issues.
- Apply practical maritime knowledge to customer questions involving vessel operations, marine engineering, fuel management, and operational workflows.
- Gather and communicate customer feedback to internal teams to support product, service, documentation, and process improvements.
- Support customer meetings, demonstrations, proposals, trade shows, and the transition of new business into Client Services as needed.
- Recognize needs that may benefit from enhanced monitoring, analytics, advisory, or other premium services and coordinate with the appropriate internal teams.
Qualifications
- Two to four years of experience in the maritime industry, vessel operations, technical support, customer service, or a related field preferred.
- Maritime academy education or training, licensed deck or engineering officer experience, or equivalent practical vessel experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of vessel operations, marine engineering, and fuel management principles.
- Experience delivering training, technical instruction, mentoring, or customer-facing support.
- Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, organization, and follow-through skills.
- Comfort learning and supporting technical products, software platforms, and customer-facing systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with SQL, Power BI, CRM platforms, or maritime software is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and recognize when issues require escalation.
- Valid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
