About the Role:

The Vessel Support role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of maritime vessels within the United States. This position focuses on providing comprehensive logistical, technical, and operational support to vessels, facilitating their readiness and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will coordinate maintenance activities, manage supply chains for onboard materials, and assist in troubleshooting technical issues to minimize downtime. Collaboration with vessel crews, port authorities, and service providers is essential to optimize vessel performance and safety. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall success of maritime operations by maintaining vessel integrity and supporting mission objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maritime operations or related fields is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in vessel support, maritime logistics, or a related operational role.
  • Basic understanding of vessel systems, maintenance procedures, and maritime safety regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with diverse teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various port locations within the United States as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in maritime safety, vessel maintenance, or logistics management.
  • Experience working with commercial or government maritime vessels.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and inventory control software.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations related to maritime operations.
  • Ability to operate small vessels or marine equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee routine activities on vessels to ensure operational readiness.
  • Transport cooks to and from vessel as needed.
  • Knowledge of operating a forklift
  • Manage inventory and procurement of supplies, equipment, and spare parts necessary for vessel operations.
  • Liaise with vessel crews, port officials, and external contractors to facilitate smooth docking, repairs, and inspections.
  • Monitor compliance with maritime safety regulations and company policies, preparing documentation and reports as required.
  • Assist in troubleshooting technical and mechanical issues, providing timely solutions to minimize operational disruptions.
  • May be asked to work weekends.
