Job summary

GFT is seeking a Project Engineer with 5–10 years of civil/structural experience to lead engineering efforts across the Mid-Atlantic. You will mentor staff, coordinate with clients, and guide projects from concept through construction, ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery.

You will apply advanced structural knowledge, oversee budgets and schedules, and collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to meet client goals and regulatory requirements. Hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Experience managing multi‑disciplined design projects.
• Leading engineering teams with direction and motivation.
• Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues and client representatives.
• Detailed knowledge of project management methods and activities.
• Understanding of EVA and scheduling techniques.
• Software experience: STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
• Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Coordinate design objectives, progress updates, and deliverables with clients.
• Supervise engineering and technical staff on structural projects.
• Analyze complex structural issues and develop innovative design methods.
• Represent the firm at project meetings and industry conferences.
• Plan and manage structural design activities for large, complex projects.
• Direct structural components of multi-disciplinary projects with other disciplines.
• Apply knowledge of structural systems and applicable codes (IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI).
• Ensure designs meet client goals, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.
