Job summary

Compass Maritime Group is seeking a seasoned Marine Service Manager for a Missouri marina to own the service department, strengthen team accountability, and drive profitability.

You will stabilize, strengthen, and grow the operation by evaluating people, processes, workload, and financials, and implementing a clear plan for improvement. Lead the team, manage the P&L, and improve estimates, scheduling, parts coordination, and customer communication.

Qualifications

• Proven record of managing the P&L of a marine or similar technical service department.
• Demonstrated success meeting monthly service revenue targets and improving profitability.
• Experience managing service technicians.
• Professional marine repair experience and strong diagnostic capabilities.
• Experience with a range of vessels including cruisers or yachts over 40 feet.
• Ability to prepare accurate, profitable repair estimates.
• Technical judgment for labor expectations and technician performance.
• Ability to establish standards, address performance issues, and make difficult personnel decisions.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Experience operating a marine travel lift or related equipment.
• Comfort learning and using service-management software.
• Valid driver’s license and commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vessels, diagnose repair needs, and prepare labor and parts estimates.
• Review estimates, work orders, and repairs for accuracy, quality, and profitability.
• Manage jobs from diagnosis to authorization, scheduling, repair, invoicing, and delivery.
• Provide technical guidance for difficult repairs.
• Work on boats when additional support is needed to complete jobs on schedule.
• Improve use of Lightspeed for estimates, work orders, and billing.
• Safely operate the marina’s travel lift and oversee vessel handling procedures.
• Support customer communication with clear diagnoses, estimates, and timelines.
