Job summary

Rock Outdoors in West Virginia is seeking a Marine Service Manager to oversee the Marine Service division, lead technicians and writers, manage shop workload, and ensure excellent customer service. You will recruit, train, and coach staff while coordinating with other locations to maintain facility health.

The role requires five years in marine service, forklift and DOT readiness, strong organizational skills, and flexibility for varying schedules and travel for boat shows.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in marine service or related industry.
• Excellent customer service skills, communication and listening skills.
• Experience with driving a forklift.
• Willingness to become DOT driving certified.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Travel for Boat Shows and other Rock Outdoors locations as required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Marine knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and assists Warranty Specialist, Parts Specialist, Service Writers, and Technicians as needed.
• Manages daily Service Shop workload and schedules technicians, including sales and operational plans, store and department standards, cash handling/settlements, truck shipments, and inventory control.
• Supervises and coaches Marine Staff in providing efficient and friendly service at registers, boat drop-off, sales floor, etc.
• Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training employees for parts and service.
• Demonstrates advanced product knowledge and develops/maintains awareness of new products.
• Demonstrates courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism always.
• Work with other Rock Outdoors locations as needed.
• Assist with marine staff to set up and break down boat shows.
• Accepts special assignments as directed by Leadership.
• Works in tandem with the Marine Sales Manager and Retail Manager to ensure good overall health of the facility and its operations.
• Follows all company policies and procedures, including loss prevention guidelines to deter theft.
• Reports directly to Marine and Service Manager that supports, assists and supervises your role.
