Job summary

Jefferson County WSU Extension seeks a Program Assistant to support the Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee. This part-time, 15 hours/week benefitted position may be filled at Assistant I or II level, with potential extension beyond December 2027.

The role includes office-based administrative and project support, with chances to assist marine science monitoring, conservation, and education projects in the field as interest allows.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED and one year of experience in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated experience with planning and organizing.
• Experience coordinating meetings and events.
• Ability to communicate with volunteers via email, over the phone, or in person.

Responsibilities

• Create and edit reports, newsletters, presentations, web content, and other communications.
• Compile, enter, and summarize data.
• Provide support for event planning, including the biennial MRC project planning retreat.
• Maintain program equipment and supplies.
• Maintain digital and physical records, labeling, organizing, and filing.
• Collaborate with the Coordinator to support MRC subcommittees and attend events.
• Attend monthly evening MRC meetings on the first Tuesday of each month from 5:30pm-7:30pm, virtually or in person.
• Communicate with volunteers via email, phone, or in person.
