Job summary

Jefferson County WSU Extension invites applications for a part-time Program Assistant to support the Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee. Depending on qualifications, positions may be filled as Program Assistant I or II. The role offers 15 hours/week with benefits and grant-based funding through December 2027, potentially through December 2029.

Location: Port Hadlock, WA. Responsibilities include communications, data entry, meeting coordination, and event support.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED and experience in related field for Program Assistant I.
• Program Assistant II requires two years as Program Assistant I and one year in related field.
• Demonstrated planning and organizing experience.

Responsibilities

• Create and edit reports, newsletters, public presentations, web content and other communications.
• Compile, enter, and summarize data for the program.
• Support event planning including the biennial MRC project planning retreat.
• Maintain program equipment and supplies and manage records.
• Coordinate with the Coordinator to support MRC subcommittees and meetings.
• Attend monthly evening MRC meetings (5:30pm–7:30pm) and engage volunteers.
