Job summary

Moran Towing Corporation seeks an Operations Manager for the New Orleans division. This full-time, exempt role reports to the General Manager and oversees marine assets, shoreside activities, and staff to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Responsibilities include managing dispatch, vessel crewing, and safety programs, while maintaining strong relationships with customers, vendors, and regulatory bodies. Salary range reflects market norms for the region.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year college degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant operations experience in the tug/towing industry.
• Valid driver’s license and TWIC.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dispatchers; ensure jobs are tracked and billed correctly.
• Review bills for accuracy and submit to customers.
• Coordinate vessel crewing and mariner placement; manage crew changes.
• Support safety management system (SMS) implementation and training.
• Conduct investigations into injuries or accidents; administer incident reporting.
• Assist in budgeting and financial oversight for the division.
