Job summary

Moran Towing Corporation is seeking a Licensed Engineer to join Moran New York. You will oversee maintenance and operation of all machinery and spaces on board, reporting to the Captain. This full-time role blends hands-on engineering with vessel logistics and safety culture in a marine environment.

Qualifications include MMC and TWIC, STCW if required, USCG 719k medical, and pre-employment drug screening. Expect thorough records, logbooks, and coordination with shoreside management.

Qualifications

• Merchant Mariners Credential (MMC) or must apply within 60 days if exempt.
• TWIC credential.
• STCW certification (if required for service).
• USCG 719k Medical certification.
• Pre-Employment Drug Screening.

Responsibilities

• Familiarizing yourself with the current operational status on joining a boat.
• Properly turning over duties to the relief.
• Reporting unsafe situations or opportunities for improvement.
• Completing general and planned maintenance schedules.
• Keeping Captain and shoreside management apprised of conditions and maintenance needs.
• Maintaining engine logs, maintenance records, and reporting fuel/oil usage.
• Supervising procurement and transfer of potable water, ballast water, fuel oil, and lube oil.
• Acting as PIC and completing required inspection entries.
