NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) invites applications for a Marine Oiler on DEP-operated vessels. This provisional position requires passing the next civil service exam to pursue permanent status and a list number issued by NYC DCAS.

Residency rules apply, and 55-a Program may offer accommodations for eligible individuals. Selected candidates will work under direct supervision in the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment, assisting in propulsion systems, lubrication, and vessel

Formación

• Valid Third Assistant Marine Engineer license or higher, or Merchant Mariner's Document with endorsement (QMED, Marine Oiler, or Marine Fireman/Water Tender).
• License/Document must be maintained for duration of employment.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in maintenance and operations of marine propulsion and auxiliary equipment.
• Clean and paint machinery spaces.
• Maintain lube oil stores.
• Assist on dock-handling mooring lines.
• Operate sludge valves as directed.
• Perform other related duties on DEP-operated vessels.
