Qualified candidates will hold a US Coast Guard license as Third Mate or higher with Radar Observer endorsement, plus a TWIC card and related credentials. NYC residency is generally preferred for appointment.

Qualifikationen

• United States Coast Guard license as Third Mate (or higher) with Radar Observer endorsement.
• Within thirty days of appointment, possess a valid TWIC card issued by TSA.
• For Assignment Level II: Second Mate license (2700+ gross tons).
• For Assignment Level III: Chief Mate license (2700+ gross tons) and First Class Pilot license with NY harbor routes.

Aufgaben

• Assist Captain in safe maneuvering, navigation, and operation of the Department’s sludge vessels.
• Operate and pilot water quality vessels up to 100 feet; maintain vessel logs and develop reports.
• Perform dispatcher duties and direct subordinate personnel.
• Undertake related duties as assigned.
