Job summary

UIC Bowhead Transport in Anchorage, Alaska seeks a QMED/Junior Engineer to assist with engineering maintenance, deck operations, line handling, standing watch and off-watch duties, and fulfilling security or emergency responsibilities for its Anchorage location.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years in maritime industry.
• Heavy Equipment Operator experience required (loader, forklift, deck crane, skid steer).
• Must be a U.S. citizen with valid passport and TWIC, plus valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair ship equipment, engines, and deck gear.
• Assist with deck operations, line handling, and watch duties.
• Perform security/emergency tasks as assigned by Master or Mate.
• Follow USCG and environmental regulations and represent the company professionally.
• Communicate clearly with crew and external sources.
