Job summary

UIC Bowhead Transport Company, LLC is seeking Marine Ordinary Seamen to join the deck crew for operations based out of Alaska. This entry-level role provides hands-on sea time in challenging Arctic and sub-Arctic waters, with rotational schedules and opportunities to learn in demanding marine environments.

Ideal candidates are safety-focused, eager to learn, and capable of performing medium-heavy labor in extreme weather.

Qualifications

• Valid MMC with Ordinary Seaman endorsement (or entry-level deck rating)
• Valid TWIC Card
• Current STCW Basic Training
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test, background check, and physical/fit-for-duty screening
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Physical ability to perform medium-heavy labor in extreme weather conditions
• Ability to work in confined spaces and on uneven, slippery surfaces

These positions offer entry-level mariners the chance to gain valuable sea time and experience in challenging Arctic and sub-Arctic waters. What You’ll Need

• Cold-weather or Alaska maritime experience
• VPDSD, RFPNW, or additional STCW endorsements
• Small boat, crane, or cargo-handling experience
• Familiarity with marine maintenance tools and procedures
