Job summary

SA-TECH is seeking a Marine Electronics Technician to provide Seaborne Targets O&M support at Naval Base Ventura County, Port Hueneme, CA. The role focuses on electrical and electronic systems on vessels from 21 to 286 feet, with full-time, non-exempt scheduling and on-site work at NBVC Port Hueneme.

Qualified candidates typically hold a high school diploma or equivalent, plus technical training or 4–6 years of related experience; military environment experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical school training or 4–6 years related experience.
• Experience in a military environment preferred.
• Knowledge of marine electrical systems and safety standards.
• Experience with Mercury Marine and Suzuki outboards, MerCruiser and diesel engines listed.
• Ability to read maintenance manuals and interpret technical data.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all electrical and electronic components and ensure operational readiness for a fleet of vessels.
• Perform electronics and electrical work on seaborne target systems and subsystems.
• Assist higher-level technicians with build-up or replacement of seaborne target components; troubleshoot AC/DC systems; repair electronic equipment.
• Qualify for and maintain PCCU Remote Control Operator certification.
• Test electrical circuits using a multimeter; fabricate AC/DC circuit boards; troubleshoot radar systems.
