Job summary

Deangelo Marine Exhaust, Inc. seeks a Marine Engineer/Designer to design and develop systems for vessels and marine equipment. You will create production-ready 2D/3D drawings and models, ensuring compliance with ABS, USCG, and IMO standards.

The role requires knowledge of marine engineering, strong CAD skills across AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks, and ShipConstructor, plus ability to collaborate with shipyards and fabrication teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field.
• 2+ years of design/engineering experience in marine/shipbuilding environment.
• Proficiency in marine CAD software (AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks, ShipConstructor or equivalent).
• Knowledge of marine systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding marine regulations and classification society requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise detailed 2D and 3D marine vessel designs, layouts, and components using CAD software (AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks, ShipConstructor).
• Develop designs for hulls, propulsion systems, piping, electrical layouts, and structural components for marine environments.
• Ensure designs comply with marine codes, safety standards, and regulatory bodies (ABS, USCG, IMO).
• Collaborate with naval architects, production teams, and clients through design and construction phases.
• Conduct engineering calculations for weight, stability, and load analysis.
• Support production and fabrication by resolving technical issues and ensuring design feasibility.
• Assist in BOM creation and documentation for manufacturing and procurement.
• Participate in prototype testing and sea trials, assisting evaluations and improvements.
• Maintain organized records of designs, revisions, and engineering documentation.
