Job summary

NABRICO Marine is seeking a Senior Designer to join our Covington, LA team. You will detail hull designs for various barges, using ShipConstructor and AutoCAD, upgrading 2D drawings to 3D models, and creating construction drawings for release to production.

Responsibilities include updating shop drawings, generating CNC code, and coordinating with peers to solve complex design problems while ensuring accuracy and quality in marine fabrication drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience with AutoCAD.
• AutoCAD 2024 experience on CAD projects.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with ShipConstructor.
• ShipConstructor 2025 experience preferred.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to read marine structural documentation.
• Experience with ShipConstructor Hull feature/parts and related reports.
• Experience with large assemblies (5,000+ parts).
• Strong prioritization, scheduling and execution skills.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of work.

Responsibilities

• Detail Hull designs for tank, hopper, deck, and dock barges.
• Utilize ShipConstructor and AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Upgrade 2D drawings to 3D models per standards.
• Create 3D hull models and construction drawings for production.
• Create and update shop drawings and shop bills.
• Generate CNC code for inhouse processing equipment.
• Revise linework, references and callouts from redlines.
• Work in an office-based drafting environment with daily software use.
• Coordinate with peers to resolve design issues.
• Gather information from specs, prior projects, and capabilities to produce designs and BOMs.
• May visit production areas to troubleshoot problems and offer solutions.
