Job summary

Orion in Houston is seeking a diligent helper to support welders, pipefitters, carpenters and other skilled workers on marine construction projects. You will assist with moving pieces, preparing work areas, and following directions from the Barge Foreman to help projects finish safely and on schedule.

The role requires at least one year of field experience, good communication, ability to work with minimal supervision, and a commitment to safety; physical tasks include lifting up to 50 lbs,

Qualifications

• Minimum one year construction or craft worker helper experience.
• Experience in Welding, Pipefitting, Piledriving or Carpentry desirable.
• Able to understand and follow directions from supervision.
• Good communication with coworkers.
• Willing to complete safety training as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist skilled workers on marine construction projects.
• Move and position materials and tools as directed.
• Support the Barge Foreman to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping on site.
