Job summary

Orion Marine Group is seeking a Laborer local to Southern Louisiana to support field construction on marine and heavy civil projects. You will assist welders, carpenters, and equipment operators, help move materials, and maintain a safe work environment across docks, wharves, and terminals.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and the ability to follow directions, with opportunities to learn and grow within a project-driven team along the Gulf Coast.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of construction or craft helper field experience.
• Welding, pipefitting, pile driving, or carpentry experience desirable.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions from supervision.
• Willingness to complete safety or job training as required.
• Ability to work without close supervision and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist skilled craft workers in performing duties.
• Move work pieces, tools, and supplies manually or with hand trucks.
• Lift/move/clamp work pieces into position as directed.
• Clean work pieces to remove slag, rust, and grease.
• Connect hoses or cables for power and gas as needed.
• Operate engines or generators when required.
• Support crane and material handling activities.
• Assist with forms, alignment, and finishing tasks.
