Job summary

American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) is seeking a Marine Classification BD Manager for the Gulf Coast to drive market position and sales outcomes. This core sales role focuses on new business, managing accounts, and leveraging existing relationships, while coordinating with ABS teams to meet customer needs.

The role requires strategic planning, relationship development, and the ability to lead visits and proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited university or equivalent business/quality-related experience.
• 5+ years of experience working for IACS class society is preferred.
• Business experience in manufacturing and/or technical service industries.
• Experience in LNG and Classification services
• Experience in the Cruise Ship Sector, Gas Carriers, etc.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to strategic initiatives and planning with market knowledge for the Gulf Coast.
• Sell ABS services leveraging local affiliate business structures.
• Develop and maintain key client relationships and expand new business opportunities.
• Lead development of visit plans and organize client meetings for ABS senior management.
• Promote ABS service portfolio and coordinate cross-team opportunities.
• Develop capture strategies, proposals and pricing with internal teams.
• Collaborate with technical staff to meet customer needs.
• Provide strategic insight on market drivers and competitive activities.
• Identify opportunities for marketing campaigns to drive sales.
• Submit reports and maintain data in the CRM; forecast sales targets.
