Job summary

Ballard Marine Construction is a specialty underwater and marine construction company active on dams, bridges, water and wastewater facilities, and industrial sites across North America. The Carpenter role supports Ballard’s marine and heavy civil projects, performing skilled carpentry, formwork, and concrete work with a field crew.

Strong safety focus and ability to read plans are essential. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of carpentry or construction experience, including rigging and crane

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver’s License with current driving record free from serious or frequent violations.
• 3+ years’ carpentry or construction experience, preferably supporting marine or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled carpentry and construction work on marine, underwater, and heavy civil projects.
• Measure, cut, drill, fit, assemble, and install timber, formwork, decking, and other components.
• Build, install, strip, and modify concrete forms and assist with reinforcement and concrete work.
• Perform layout using drawings and hand tools; read plans and field directions.
• Rig, move and secure materials using approved rigging methods and lifting devices.
• Assist with crane picks and placement of heavy materials and structures.
• Support pile-driving, rehabilitation, and other project work as assigned.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively; inspect tools and areas for hazards.
