Job description

Ballard Marine Construction is not a typical contractor. We are a specialty underwater and marine construction company trusted to take on technically demanding work across dams, bridges, water and wastewater facilities, industrial sites, marine facilities, and other critical infrastructure throughout North America. Our People, Our Power, The Ball…

We are built for the hard stuff. Our teams work in challenging environments, solve problems that do not always come with an easy answer, and take pride in doing work that matters. That takes skilled people, strong crews, and a culture where safety, quality, accountability, and teamwork are non-negotiable.

At Ballard, craft employees are a critical part of how we execute. We value people who know their trade, work hard, look out for the crew, and take ownership of the job in front of them. If you want to be part of a team doing real, technically challenging construction work with people who care about doing it right, Ballard is the kind of place you can build something you are proud of

Job Summary:

The Carpenter performs skilled carpentry and construction work in support of Ballard’s marine, underwater, and heavy civil projects. This role performs structural and form carpentry, concrete work, rigging, pile-driving support, and related construction activities on critical infrastructure including dams, bridges, water and wastewater facilities, marine structures, and industrial projects.

Working as part of a field crew, the Carpenter uses plans, specifications, measurements, tools, and field direction to safely complete technically demanding construction and rehabilitation work.

  • Trustworthy and Respectful - We are passionate about honesty, authenticity, and transparency. No lies. No drama. No politics. We value constructive conflict and ensure that even in conflict we treat others with respect.
  • Ownership and Accountability - When something goes wrong, we first “look in the mirror” before we “look out the window”. We ask “what could I have done differently?” and then we share lessons learned. Regularly challenging ourselves and those around us to be better is a way of life. “Me first” belongs here.
