Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Maps team to lead backend engineers, shape strategy, and deliver scalable map services used by hundreds of millions of Snapchatters daily.

You will partner with Product, Operations, Data Science and other engineers, own roadmaps, mentor talent, and ensure security and production readiness while embracing AI tools to accelerate development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent and extensive software development experience.
• 10+ years of experience with leadership responsibilities or tech lead roles.
• Experience with distributed systems and backend service development.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of backend engineers, in a fast-paced, quick-to-market environment
• Set the strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and lead your team to deliver
• Collaborate with Product, Operation, Data Science and Engineering teams, and executive stakeholders
• Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of major decisions and be a strong technical mentor
• Hire, grow and retain high-performing team members
• Utilize AI tools and high velocity engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services while upholding rigorous standards for code correctness, security, and production ready quality code
