Job summary

Plug Power Inc. is seeking a Manager of Manufacturing & Test Engineering to lead a ~12-person team across test, process, and manufacturing engineering.

You will drive standardization, partner with Production, R&D, and Quality, and own budgets for the functions while delivering quality, throughput, and cost improvements. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong electrical/mechanical understanding, and proven experience in production test systems and process documentation.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or STEM field.
• 7+ years of engineering in manufacturing, including 3+ years managing engineers/technicians.
• Owns the full people-management cycle: hiring, goals, coaching.
• Hands-on with production test systems, instrumentation, data acquisition.
• Experience reading schematics and test hardware.
• Develops/manages manufacturing process docs.
• Applies structured problem-solving (8D/5-Why/DMAIC).
• Manages external vendors/integrators end-to-end.
• Reads engineering drawings, schematics, P&IDs.
• Strong verbal/written communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians.
• Own the engineering ticketing system and KPIs.
• Align priorities with build schedule and floor needs.
• Oversee test assets lifecycle and standardization.
• Direct LabVIEW/Python test software directions.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams for readiness.
