Job summary

Innoflight LLC in San Diego, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer I (Software) to join a small, mission-driven team building automated test systems for aerospace products. You will develop Python-based automation, troubleshoot production test issues, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Industrialization, Software, and Hardware Engineering to boost test efficiency and product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 1+ year of experience in software development, test automation, manufacturing engineering, ATE environments.
• Working knowledge of Python programming.
• Basic understanding of software debugging, scripting, and automated test methodologies.
• Exposure to Linux, SQL databases, version control systems, or automated test frameworks is a plus.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develops automated test software: Assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining automated manufacturing test software and ATPs.
• Creates Python test automation: Develops and modifies Python-based test scripts that interface with ATE and devices.
• Troubleshoots production issues: Investigates failures, collects data, and assists root cause analysis.
• Improves manufacturing performance: Analyzes results and recommends improvements to FPY.
• Maintains production test systems: Deploys and maintains scalable test solutions, documents updates.
• Collaborates across engineering: Partners with Manufacturing, Industrialization, Software, and Hardware Engineering teams.
• Supports manufacturing operations: Provides technical support to manufacturing technicians.
• Drives continuous improvement: Participates in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
