Job summary

Innoflight, based in San Diego, seeks a Software Integration & Test Engineer I to advance aerospace testing. You will develop Python automation, execute tests, and troubleshoot complex systems with a cross-functional team to deliver reliable, mission-critical space solutions.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years in test engineering, strong Python skills, and familiarity with C/C++, JavaScript, SQL, and Linux. US security clearance eligibility is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years in software integration, test engineering, or related role.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming and software automation.
• Experience with C/C++, JavaScript, SQL, and Linux is a plus.
• Experience documenting, tracking, and communicating technical issues.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting software and hardware interfaces.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develops Test Strategies: identifies testable product requirements and helps develop test plans.
• Creates Automated Test Solutions: builds Python automation tools interfacing with test equipment.
• Authors Test Procedures: writes verification and acceptance test procedures.
• Investigates Test Failures: troubleshoots issues with senior engineers to find root causes.
• Supports Test Review Activities: presents findings and supports issue resolution.
• Enhances Manufacturing Testing: collaborates to improve test clarity and reliability.
• Integrates and Troubleshoots Systems: works with hardware and software teams to validate functionality.
• Supports Project Planning: provides estimates for test features and automation tasks.
