Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 1 or 2 for its San Diego facility on 1st shift (5:00 am - 2:30 pm). You will perform layup, panel fabrication and assembly of composite structures for space and defense applications.

The role requires handling fragile materials, bonding components, reading blueprints, and using calipers and tape measures. Ongoing opportunities include overtime, a discretionary bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent and 0-2 years' close-tolerance assembly experience.
• 1+ years' spacecraft assembly or integration work.
• Experience in composites/manufacturing environment (space/satellite structures or aerospace).
• Demonstrated mechanical ability.

Responsibilities

• Notate usage, traceability, pot life, and out time controls on all adhesive materials used.

• Read and understand manufacturing blueprints and shop planning.
• Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness.

We are currently seeking candidates for a Full-time Manufacturing Technician 1 or 2 for our San Diego location. This position is for 1st Shift (5:00 am - 2:30 pm).

The Manufacturing Technician 1 or 2 position performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations in layup and panel fabrication and assembly.

Basic Qualifications for Level 1

• 1+ years' space craft assembly or integration work

Basic Qualifications for Level 2

• HS Diploma or equivalent and 2 years' experience with close-tolerance assemblywork (e.g. electronics assembly, mechanical assembly,modeling),


• 1+ years' space craft assembly or integration work


• Experience working in acomposites/manufacturingenvironment (space/satellite structures,OR aerospace manufacturingenvironment)


• Demonstrated Mechanical Ability.

Preferred qualifications

• Standard computer literacy skills in MicrosoftOffice:Word and Excel.


• Experience with cranes and rigging, forklifts, and similar manufacturing equipment


• Strong attention to detail.


• Excels in a team environment.


• Ability to work under limited supervision.


• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.


• Ability to be on feet for up to 8+ hours each day.


• Ability to work Overtime and Weekends as needed.

Primary Level Salary Range: $43,400.00 - $72,300.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $51,400.00 - $85,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
