Job summary

Northrop Grumman in San Diego is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 1 or 2 for the 1st shift (5:00 am - 2:30 pm) to perform functions in layup and panel fabrication and assembly. The role involves handling composite materials, bonding, and interpretation of blueprints in an aerospace manufacturing environment.

Basic qualifications include a high school diploma and experience with close-tolerance assembly; preferred candidates have space craft assembly experience and strong mechanical ability.

• Tooling preparation and release application.
• Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware.
• Reading and understanding manufacturing blue prints and shop planning
• Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness.

We are currently seeking candidates for a Full-time Manufacturing Technician 1 or 2 for our San Diego location. This position is for 1st Shift (5:00 am - 2:30 pm).

The Manufacturing Technician 1 or 2 position performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations in layup and panel fabrication and assembly.

• Experience working in acomposites/manufacturingenvironment (space/satellite structures,OR aerospace manufacturingenvironment)
• Demonstrated Mechanical Ability.

• Standard computer literacy skills in MicrosoftOffice:Word and Excel.
• Experience with cranes and rigging, forklifts, and similar manufacturing equipment
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excels in a team environment.
• Ability to work under limited supervision.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to be on feet for up to 8+ hours each day.
• Ability to work Overtime and Weekends as needed.

Primary Level Salary Range: $43,400.00 - $72,300.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $51,400.00 - $85,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
