Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 1 for its San Diego location on the 2nd shift (1:00 pm - 10:30 pm) with a 7% hourly differential. The role involves lay-up and bonding of composite materials, working with pre-pregs, and maintaining shop standards.

Required are a high school diploma and 0-2+ years in a manufacturing/composites environment, plus the ability to read and follow written instructions and blueprints. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma and 0-2+ years' of composite lay up/ bonding experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a composites/manufacturing environment (space/satellite structures, aerospace manufacturing environment)
  • Demonstrated Mechanical Ability.
  • Able to read, write and work to written instructions, blueprints, or shop drawings in English.
  • Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision.
  • US Citizenship required

We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician 1 for our San Diego location. This position will be on 2nd shift (1:00 pm - 10:30 pm) paying 7% differential per hour.

The Manufacturing Technician 1 position performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations in layup and panel fabrication.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Handling and managing fragile composite materials. Prep, lay-up and bonding of composite products

Basic Qualifications
  • A high school diploma and 0-2+ years' of composite lay up/ bonding experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize.
  • Experience or familiarity with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance issues.
  • Standard computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel.

Primary Level Salary Range: $43,400.00 - $72,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
