Job summary

SLB New Energy & Industrial seeks a Manufacturing Technician to assemble, integrate, wire and test electrical and/or mechanical systems for new equipment builds in a manufacturing environment. Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or technical certification.
  • 5+ years of hands-on electrical and/or mechanical experience.
  • Experience using conduit bending, wire stripping, crimping, drilling, tapping, torque, and pipe/conduit cutting tools.
  • Experience installing and assembling electrical, mechanical, piping, and conduit systems.
  • Experience performing electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance (megger), hi-pot, and functional testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and layout drawings.
  • Fluency, both written and verbal, in English.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical and electrical systems for new equipment according to drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Assemble and install ducting systems, supports, hangers, brackets, piping, valves, fittings, flanges, and gaskets per specifications.
  • Perform mechanical fit-up, alignment, and adjustment of piping and ducting assemblies.
  • Cut, prep, assemble, and install PVC piping systems.
  • Measure, bend, route, and install conduit using manual and powered conduit-bending tools.
  • Pull, strip, terminate, label, and dress electrical wiring and cables.
  • Perform crimping and electrical terminations using approved tools and methods
  • Apply specified torque to mechanical and electrical connections using torque-controlled tools
  • Perform electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance (megger), hi-pot, and functional testing of completed assemblies
  • Conduct pressure and leak testing of piping systems in accordance with specifications and procedures
  • Verify wiring accuracy against electrical schematics, drawings, and bills of material
  • Troubleshoot, document, and resolve mechanical and electrical assembly issues, failures, and rework requirements
  • Verify system integrity, alignment, functionality, and assembly completeness prior to product release
  • Install, maintain, repair, and replace equipment components, including motors, pumps, valves, and related assemblies
  • Safely operate overhead cranes, hoists, lifts, and rigging equipment to position components and assemblies
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
  • Train and mentor less experienced assemblers and technicians
  • Support continuous improvement and process enhancement initiatives
  • Follow all safety, lifting, rigging, and material-handling procedures
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards
  • Complete required documentation accurately and timely
  • Work effectively in a manufacturing environment with varying noise levels, temperatures, and proximity to equipment.

The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the assembly, integration, wiring, and testing of electrical and/or mechanical systems for new product builds in a manufacturing environment. This role supports complete equipment builds by combining mechanical assembly with electrical installation and verification. The ideal candidate brings strong, practical electrical and/or mechanical skills gained in manufacturing, industrial, field, or construction environments.

Qualifications And Experience
  • High School diploma, GED, technical certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on electrical and/or mechanical experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction, assembly, or field service environments.
  • Experience using conduit bending, wire stripping, crimping, drilling, tapping, torque, and pipe/conduit cutting tools.
  • Experience installing and assembling electrical, mechanical, piping, and conduit systems.
  • Experience performing electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance (megger), hi-pot, and functional testing.
  • Experience performing pressure testing and leak testing of mechanical and piping systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and layout drawings.
  • Understanding of dimensions, tolerances, quality control requirements, and assembly standards.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues.
