The Manufacturing Technician will be responsible for developing and maintaining all documents and procedures associated with kSARIA's copper and fiber optic assembly products. This position will play a lead role in developing manufacturing processes for the introduction of new products into production, as well as supporting technical problem solving related to manufacturing aspects of products already in production. The ideal candidate would have a thorough understanding of electrical/copper cable assemblies, as well as military grade fiber optic cable assemblies. This position will report to the Manufacturing Process Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop work instructions and manufacturing processes for electrical/copper and fiber optic products.
  • Assess and provide feedback for customer cable designs.
  • Review and implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Verification of designs.
  • Implement software solution for both static and dynamic work instructions for use on the shop floor.
  • Conduct root cause failure analysis and develop processes to reduce rework.
  • Establish standard assembly and test procedures for the manufacture of the company's cable assembly products.
  • Provide training and support to assembly technicians.
  • Set up test programs for cable assemblies using manual and automated test equipment.
  • Develop and implement new processes, programs, and procedures to increase factory efficiency.
  • Participate in 5S, Kaizen, and other process improvement activities.

Requirements:
  • Proven track record developing manufacturing work instructions/procedures for electrical/copper assemblies.
  • Knowledge of electrical/copper termination processes including soldering and contact crimping.
  • Proven track record developing manufacturing work instructions/procedures for fiber optic assemblies - preferred (company will train if necessary).
  • Knowledge of fiber optic termination processes - preferred (company will train if necessary).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail oriented and quality metric driven.
  • US Citizenship required for US Department of Defense work.
  • Exceptional working knowledge of all MS Office software products (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of IPC-620 and IPC-610 standards
  • Minimum of 3 yrs relevant experience

Education

  • BSME, BSEE, or applicable technical degree a plus
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)

Other Requirements

  • Familiarity with military connectors is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of a drawing software tool such as MS Visio, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent is a plus.
