Job summary

PowerSecure in Durham, NC seeks a Manufacturing Technical Trainer to onboard, train, and continuously develop Technicians from Levels I to Senior. You will deliver structured, hands-on and classroom instruction on electrical and mechanical assembly, ensuring safety, quality, and production standards are met.

The role requires strong communication, coaching, and cross‑functional collaboration, with an emphasis on translating complex concepts into effective learning.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED; technical degree preferred.
• “4+ years in manufacturing/electrical environments”
• “Experience in training, onboarding, workforce development”
• “Structured training program delivery experience”
• “Cross‑functional collaboration with production leadership”
• “Knowledge of electrical/mechanical schematics, assembly standards”
• “Experience with hand and power tools; strong safety focus”

Responsibilities

• Lead structured onboarding for new technicians
• Deliver hands-on and classroom training on mechanical and electrical assembly processes
• Ensure new hires reach baseline competency in safety, quality, and production standards
• Create a positive onboarding experience for new employees
• Conduct ongoing training for technicians at all levels
• Support skill progression from Technician I through Senior Technician
• Partner with leadership to identify skill gaps and training needs
• Develop and maintain training materials, work instructions, and standard work
• Continuously improve training programs using feedback and production data
• Support rollout of new processes, products, and changes through training
• Model respectful behavior, accountability, integrity, and professional standards
• Ensure training aligns with safety and quality requirements
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to workforce capability
• Track and document training progress and skill development
• Ensure employee readiness before transitioning to independent work
