Job summary

First Solar Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Technology professional in the United States responsible for scaling up and transferring new thin-film processes, including vacuum deposition and laser processing, to a 24x7 environment.

You will use DMAIC/8D, DOE/SPC, and data analytics (SQL/Python/JMP/PowerBI) to improve safety, throughput, yield, and performance. Strong cross-functional collaboration and mentoring are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in thin film deposition and/or thermal processing.
• Hands-on troubleshooting in mechanical and process domains.
• Experience running experiments in lab or manufacturing settings.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety procedures and contribute to EHS/Quality improvements.
• Develop, improve, and document robust solar module manufacturing processes.
• Serve as subject-matter expert for assigned process/equipment sets.
• Design and execute process experiments; analyze and present results.
• Work with OEMs; evaluate, install, and qualify tools.
• Execute continuous improvement plans using Six Sigma methodologies.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians; provide technical training.
• Develop Process Control Plans, FMEAs, Work Instructions, and Troubleshooting Guides.
• Maintain cross-functional communication including leadership.
