Job summary

Andersen Corporation in Minnesota is seeking a Team Lead to direct daily production line operations and coach a team of 5-40 associates. You will use AMS tools to resolve issues, drive SQDC metrics, and provide training and feedback to staff.

You will oversee safety, quality, and efficiency while coordinating with Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams, and supporting other production areas as needed. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience in manufacturing operations.
• Lean training or certification preferred.
• Knowledge of operations products, processes, and equipment including safety, quality, changeover and set-up skills.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the continuous flow of production to meet planned output while following operations standards (safety, quality, delivery, cost, maintenance).
• Facilitate training and development of production employees, providing clear expectations of performance, AMS, quality, and safety.
• Maintain cross-training matrix to effectively utilize knowledge of employee capabilities.
• Coordinate movement of employees to meet business need.
• Focus on improving business metrics by leading AMS projects and initiatives.
• Maintain visual management tools (PVA, run charts, CI boards, and Tier 1 boards) to drive continuous improvement.
• Participate in problem solving using AMS tools and methodology (5 Why, PDCA, MCA).
• Demonstrate leadership in communications, conflict resolution, process constraints and problem solving.
• Lead and effectively communicate at daily Tier1 meeting to encourage employee participation and engagement.
• Provide support of other production areas as needed, including project support, leader coverage, and cycle counting responsibilities.
• Complete standard work & control plan audits, including safety, finished goods quality, scrap, and standard work.
• Participate and complete corrective actions from the MCA process.
• Follow and enforce all safety procedures and proactively address safety concerns.
