Job summary

Plain Dealing Lumber, LLC is seeking a full-time salaried Recruiter to own high-volume, full-cycle hiring for hourly, skilled trade, and salaried positions across the mill. The role focuses on recruiting (about 80%), with the remainder supporting onboarding, retention, and HR recordkeeping.

Reports to the HR Director. Responsibilities include sourcing candidates daily, planning on-site events, interviewing, negotiating offers, and maintaining compliant ATS/HRIS records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's in HR, Business, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of full-cycle or high-volume recruiting for hourly, skilled trade, or manufacturing roles.
• Experience with ATS and HRIS.
• Working knowledge of Title VII, ADA, FLSA, EEO recordkeeping.
• Strong communicator with discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle, high-volume recruiting for hourly, skilled trade, and salaried roles from requisition through start date.
• Meet weekly hiring targets set by the HR Director to fill open positions.
• Source candidates daily through job boards, social media, referrals, colleges, and workforce programs.
• Plan and run on-site hiring events and represent the company at job fairs and community events.
• Screen and interview candidates and recommend hires to hiring managers and HR Director.
• Extend offers; manage background checks, drug screens, and start dates.
• Build pipelines for hard-to-fill mill roles (millwrights, electricians, operators).
• Maintain ATS/HRIS records; report weekly on pipeline and time-to-fill.
• HR Support: onboarding, 90-day binders, 30-day check-ins, exit interviews, turnover tracking.
• Serve as first point of contact for routine employee questions; escalate as needed.
• Maintain personnel files and HRIS records; perform other HR duties as assigned.
