Job summary

First Solar is seeking a Manufacturing Systems professional in the United States to lead development and standardization of core manufacturing processes across multiple lines. The role emphasizes safety, quality, productivity, and cost controls, with experience in implementing PDCA cycles and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications include 2+ years in manufacturing leadership, a strong educational background in engineering or physical sciences, and Six Sigma Green Belt where possible.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing leadership roles (e.g., Technical Supervisor, Manufacturing Specialist, Operations Engineer).
• Strong track record driving continuous improvement in operations.
• Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
• Bachelors/Masters/PhD in Engineering or Physical Science or equivalent.
• Degree in Manufacturing System preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops new or improves manufacturing systems for sustainability across coating, sub-module, finishing, and boxing operations.
• Designs, delivers, and maintains manufacturing systems to meet ISO 9000 for the Perrysburg site.
• Works with Shift Managers, Supervisors, and supporting departments to improve systems and processes.
• Performs close loop checks on safety, quality, productivity, NPI, and controls.
• Plans and recommends manufacturing systems for deployment in the facility.
• Ensures standardization across all shifts and plants.
• Records data and analyzes information for improvements or proliferation.
• Proliferates established systems across shifts and plants.
• Identifies opportunities for changes and recommends updates to manufacturing department.
• Documents and archives implemented systems for future reference.
• Researches industry manufacturing systems to recommend implementations.
• Other duties as assigned.
