Job summary

First Solar, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to develop and improve solar module production processes. You will work on equipment qualification, process optimization, and data-driven problem solving on the production line.

Ideal candidates will have technical degrees with hands-on manufacturing experience and a strong background in statistics, DOE, and SPC. Travel domestically and internationally may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires technical degree with 2+ years as Manufacturing Engineer I or related engineering/manufacturing experience.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes.
• Experience in designing and executing DOE and process control plans.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document robust solar module manufacturing processes.
• Design and execute experiments to establish process windows.
• Solve day-to-day production, equipment, and process problems.
• Evaluate, install and qualify new equipment.
• Develop and maintain process control and preventive maintenance plans.
• Provide mentorship and training to engineers and technicians.
• Drive continuous improvement using six-sigma methods.
